Nevertheless, having a fever would normally mean taking a day off from work or staying in bed all day since it is often accompanied by headaches or muscle pain. There are a host of effective pills and medications for the treatment of simple fever, and this could bring instantaneous relief to anyone suffering from this symptom. If you want to adopt more natural remedies for your fever, you can actually do them without much expense and without having to visit your physician at all.

First of all, you need to drink as much fluids as you can. Water is best, and if you can drink a glass of water every hour so, the better. Vitamin C filled juices are also good, as well as warm vegetable soups to fill you up. Consumption of too much solid and hard to digest foods is not always recommended for anyone who has a higher temperature than normal. When you have fever, stick to fruit juices and clear soups. If you must eat, try lighter meals like boiled chicken, grilled fish, and a siding of fibrous vegetables.

Home Warranty Reviews

Home warranties is like an insurance policy against fixing the little things in your home, not the major things like fire or other natural disasters, but small things like appliances or light fixtures that break and need to be fixed or replaced.

Here are some things to look for in a site with reviews of home warranty companies.

Home

Look For The Popular Websites - The more traffic a review website has, the more likely it is to have enough reviews to dilute the reviews that have been manipulated by the companies themselves. If you have over 100 reviews about a certain company, even if some of them have been manipulated by the company, for the most part, they will be accurate reviews from the public.

Home Warranty Reviews

Check With The BBB - You can always check with the Better Business Bureau to see if there has been any fraudulent or unethical activity reported. Although, that won't get you a very balanced view, since most BBB reports are negative.

The Membership Review Sites Are Usually Better - Review and rating websites that have a paid membership usually have more honest and accurate reviews because the site owner have the ability to pay a staff of people to monitor the reviews and watch out for company manipulation of the reviews.

Look For Balanced Reporting - Look for a review site where both the consumer and the company have a chance to defend themselves. It will give you a clearer picture of what really happened in the incident.

Before you decide on which home warranty company to use, its important to do your research and read reviews from customers of many different home warranty companies.

Home Fish Farming Made Easy

Fish farming has become an alternative solution to the rising market demand for fresh fish. It can also be a profitable business for homeowners and can give additional income to your family if you learn how to start, operate and grow your own fish farm at home.

If you want to venture into home fish farming, you have to start by having a viable business plan. In the planning process, you have to take into account the economic, financial, and legal aspects of starting the business. You can start your home fish farming venture with a backyard pond. A good farm pond is one that is connected to any source of free-flowing water like lake or river. In home fish farming, fishes can also be raised in fish tanks and can be put indoors or outdoors.

Home

Another important factor to consider in starting a home fish farming business is your budget. If you don't have enough personal money for it, you may try availing financial support from government agencies. You should also plan how to market your fishes after growing them. You can sell them to restaurants or supermarkets or breed them. Experts say that you can get more profits if you hatch your own fish instead of paying a hatchery to supply you with young fish.

Home Fish Farming Made Easy

Aside from the moneymaking benefit of your home fish farm, it can also be a good source of fresh fish for your personal consumption. If you aren't sure of making it a sole business, you can consider it as a hobby type part-time business instead.

The most popular fish that you can use in home fish farming is tilapia. However, you may also consider other species like carp, catfish or milkfish. Your decision on what type of fish to raise in your home fish farm should depend on the water quality, temperature and salt content of your farm.

In tilapia farming, your grow-out strategy should focus on controlling water quality in the farm and the food supply of your fish. To maintain the right environmental conditions in the pond culture for tilapia, you have to balance the inputs of feed with the pond's assimilative capacity. The algae, bacteria and zooplankton in the pond will convert the waste through the natural biological processes.

The additional benefit offered by home fish farming to low-income farmers is the ability to invest in fish cultivation to give them additional income and food source.

For those with limited commercial inputs and resources needed for intensive fish production methods, you can try an alternative approach that is guaranteed to be low-cost. This is by relying on household waste supplemented with protein from snails and other homemade supplements to serve as food for the fish.

To ensure the success and profitability of your fish farm, you have to consider how to manage the potential problems that may arise to prevent them before they pose damage to your business like irregular supply of water, building up of organic matter, leakage or breakage in the pond wall, the predators, and fish diseases.

Home Interior Party

Interested in hostessing a home interior party or checking into a business opportunity as a sales consultant for a home interior or home décor company? Here's what you need to know. There are many different direct sales companies that offer home décor products.

Home Interiors (TM) lists themselves as the largest direct sales companies of home accessory products in the U.S. with over 100,000 decorating consultants.

Home

Products offered by home interior companies may include indoor and outdoor home décor products such as candles, accessories, kitchen and cooking items, candles, silk flowers, photos and paintings, shelves even furniture and bedding.

Home Interior Party

If you're interested in hostessing a party, the procedure is pretty simple. You choose the company that has the products you're most interested in and contact a local consultant. The consultant will provide you with a hostess kit that includes instructions, ideas and checklists for everything you need to do to have a successful party. You kit will also contain brochures or catalogs and information about special hostess gifts or discounts that you receive for holding a party, and additional items you can earn, which are based on the total amount of sales from your party, or the number of your guests who book their own parties, or often, it's a combination of the two.

Your consultant will also work with you and answer any questions you have and make suggestions so that your party is a success and you get the things you want.

When you get your hostess kit, the first thing you should do is spend some time going through it. Look over the hostess gifts and incentives that are available to you. Set your goals and decide on what you want. Figure out how the amount your total sales will have to be in order to reach that goal. And then create an action plan to achieve it.

The biggest single problem most hostesses run into is not inviting enough guests, or following up with them, once the invitations have been sent.

Don't let this happen to you. Make your guest list right away, and either give it to your home interior consultant, or get the invitations mailed right away. Invite everyone you know.

If you have a small house or apartment, one of the most successful types of home interior parties is often the "open house." With this type of party, there is a set start and end time, but your guests have the freedom to come and go as best fits their busy schedules. Because you don't have a set number of guests in your home all at the same time, space, having enough chairs, even having enough room for the product displays isn't as critical. In fact, most successful hostesses say they get to enjoy the party more themselves, because their duties are lighter and they can relax more. Another advantage is that you can invite more people who will pop in and out throughout the party, something that you can't do with most other types.

Other options may be to hold a catalog party (where you pass out catalogs to people who can't make the party, or instead of holding a home interior party in your home). Catalog parties often work well in offices, teachers' lounges, at craft fairs or trade shows. If you're a member of a club or an association, don't forget to invite the other members or pass out catalogs before your party.

If you're interested in the business opportunity with a home interior party company, being a hostess and having a party is a great way to check out the company first, before making a commitment. During your party you'll be able to see the complete product line and the quality of the items offered for sale. You'll be able to take a look at how the sales consultant behaves, if she knows what she's doing (which means that she was provided adequate training) and also ask discreet questions about whether or not she enjoys what she does and likes the company. And, if at the end of your party you decide to buy a kit, you may even receive special bonuses or discounts.

Hostessing home interior parties are a great way to make your own home more beautiful, and a sanctuary for your family. Becoming a home interior sales consultant may be the right way for you to start your own business, make more money and still take care of your family.

2011 Home Design Color Trends

As a Designer it's so important to be well versed on all upcoming home design and renovation trends - from building trends to paint colors and everything in between. Benjamin Moore's 2011 Color Forecast was released to Architects and Designers last month - and I wanted to share their findings with you.

Each year the color expert team at Benjamin Moore declares their predictions for the upcoming year by tracking the more recent social, cultural and political conditions and how they directly impact fashion and design trends. What they discovered was an overwhelming desire for a sense of balance coupled with four underlying themes: The Farm, Order, Escape and Tribe.

Home

1. The Farm

2011 Home Design Color Trends

There is a major focus on hearth and home for obvious reasons and most are anchoring themselves within a new reality. Earthy colors straight from the farm will be dominating interiors this year. Just take a look at your local Farmers Market for inspiration. From earthy browns, buttery yellows and milky whites - to tomatoes, pumpkins and greens.

Also look for handcrafted fabrics, burlaps, tea-stained materials, and all types of petrified, bleached and natural woods - which suggests a return to life's simpler things.

2. Order

We are craving a sense of balance and order from the chaos of the past couple of years. This is interpreted by infusing red, blues, yellows and greens to juxtapose with more monochromatic variations of black, white and gray. Geometric patterns with crisp stripes, dots and spirals uplift our spirit and improve our mood. These days it's all about making ourselves feel happy.

3. Escape

The world has been a little harsh lately so escaping into a dream world full of hope and optimism for the future- is extremely appealing at the moment. The dreamy glamour of sheer draped fabrics, metallic finishes and softened textures coupled with a more pale, frosted and opalescent color palette can be just the remedy for overcoming adversity.

4. Tribe

A focus back to our ethnic communities and much like the farm, we are aching to return to the simpler things in life yet in a more soulful way. The spicy color palette of the land such as rich berry, cinnamon, saffron and fire orange are anchored with bronzes and charcoals. There is a huge focus on patterns, stencils, hand embroidery and beading,

So how will you seek that order and balance in your life? Will you be returning to the hearth, escaping into your dreams or focusing on your community when gathering your home design inspiration for this year?

Home Insurance - Actual Cash Value and Your Home

Your house is covered for Actual Cash Value (ACV) in case you do not have the replacement cost coverage on your policy.

Actual Cash Value is the replacement cost minus the depreciation, which is the percentage for every year for the age of your home. For instance, if you bought a television for 00, then the 5 years times the depreciation percentage of 7% a year, would mean that the television would be depreciated by 0. So the replacement cost of the television should be 00, but since you do not have the replacement cost in your policy, the Actual Cash Value would be 0, and that is the coverage you would get.

Home

Now let's talk about the major coverages on a homeowners policy and we shall start with the dwelling amount. This is the coverage that you would need if you ever needed to rebuild your entire house. The prices nowadays are always rising, so you should always remember that the market value of your house is different from the replacement value, and you have to make sure that your policy guarantees you a replacement cost if ever needed.

Home Insurance - Actual Cash Value and Your Home

You always have to be very careful so you do not end up under-insuring yourself. The replacement value is usually the 20 percent increase of the market value of your house. For instance, lets assume that the market value of your house when you bought it was 0,000, and the cost to rebuild it is 5,000. If your your house was burnt to the ashes, you will only be insured for 0,00 and what this means is that the extra ,000 has to come out from your pocket. Now that is a lot of money to come up with when you file a claim.

You can avoid getting into such situations if you have a good idea about the replacement cost of your house. And that is not a difficult task at all! All you have to do is talk with your insurance agent and tell him to construct you a replacement cost value. You should keep in mind that the replacement cost only applies to what it would take to rebuild the home, it does not include the cost of the land, and in the event of a claim ever needing to be filed or in the process of considering which plan can offer the best coverage for your home in particular be sure to check online for the latest information and offerings in your area in particular.

Home Windmills - 3 Points You Should Know

A lot of families are trying out renewable sources of energy, like home windmills.

Due to regular power sources being either under threat, or creating environmental damage, alternate energy resources are starting to be more prevalent. This is going on not only at the top level (state or federal government) or at substantial electrical power companies, but also at the individual home level with many more individuals discovering means to create their own electric power.

Home

Many people are substantially lowering their power bills or even living completely off-grid by means of generating their own electric power. One prospective electricity supply which can be quickly utilized, and is also completely replenishable, is wind power. In this short article we take a look at three things you really need to understand about home windmills.

Home Windmills - 3 Points You Should Know

1) Home windmills aren't complicated devices.

In the early 1800s Michael Faraday discovered that electricity and magnetism, instead of being 2 absolutely distinct things, were in fact distinct types of the very same fundamental phenomenon, now called electromagnetism. What was found, very basically, was that you can use magnets to create power, or conversely you are able to use electric current to push magnets.

A windmill, or more accurately a wind turbine, is really exactly the reverse of a cooling fan. A fan makes use of electrical energy to drive an electric motor, which then spins the blades, which produce wind flow. Conversely, a wind turbine employs wind flow to turn the blades, which are connected to a generator which produces electric power.

Electrical motors and generators are honestly just two means of using the laws of electromagnetism to manipulate energy. An electric motor creates movement from electricity while a generator creates electrical energy from motion.

Without going into this overly deeply, just understand that electric motors and turbines are straightforward equipment, which have to have only a magnet and an electricity conductor to work. As long as either the magnet or conductor can move, electric current can be employed to generate movement, or motion used to generate electrical energy.

These days it is possible to purchase quite a few gadgets like flashlights that can be powered-up via turning a crank, or a hand-powered battery charger. Yet more examples of a electrical generator turning movement into electrical power.

2) Decreasing your energy costs or possibly living off-grid is entirely doable

Because wind turbines are so simple in design, many families have constructed their personal home windmills to lower their power expenditure. Although just one windmill on its own might not be enough to completely guarantee power when needed, it can be possible to mix your wind turbine together with other sources of power generation such as solar to almost ensure that you have power when you need it.

But you do not need to go fully off-grid or combine your home windmills with solar panels by any means. If you are just wanting to cut your power bill you are able to make a good start by having a home windmill. There are reports of people reducing their electric power bill by 80% with just a single home windmill.

3) Home Windmills don't have to set you back thousands of dollars

Home windmills don't need to cost you a great deal of money. Despite the fact that you could buy pre-packaged and fully set up wind turbines for big money it is not required.

As laid out previously the workings of a wind turbine are simple, and it is only a matter of finding the appropriate supplies and knowing how to put them together.

Using the right expertise a simple home windmill can be constructed for a couple of hundred bucks. The savings you get out of your initial windmill may then be utilized to enhance your system till you're able to fully go off the power grid, if that is what you desire to do.

Home Windmills - 3 Points You Should Know

For further info on how making home windmills is simpler than you might think and how they help save you a great deal of cash, follow the links to learn more about how you can set up and use your own home wind turbine to dramatically reduce your energy expenses.

Nursing Home Food

Unfortunately, nursing home food is usually pretty lousy. Since budgets are tight, most nursing homes cannot afford to buy the best quality products. Buying food in bulk usually means sacrificing taste. Another reason why nursing home food is not great is because many people in the nursing homes are on restricted diets that limit the amount of sugar, salt, and fat they can have. This means flavor cannot be added to the food.

Many nursing homes rely on spices to give the food more flavor. But even then, they must be careful about how much they put and the kinds they use. Nursing homes cannot serve five-star meals. Most meals are prepared using simple recipes to produce meals that will feed sixty or more.

Home

When visiting a nursing home, look at the food as it comes out. Presentation is very important when serving a meal. If the meal does not look appetizing, the elderly person will not eat it. Although the food will taste a little bland, there is little an elderly person can do except add a little salt if they are allowed to. As people age, their taste buds begin to lose their ability to distinguish flavors. This is made worse by the fact that the food served has very little taste.

Nursing Home Food

In nursing homes, the dietary staff must also follow strict cooking guidelines such as cooked eggs, and temperatures for the meat. There are no rare steaks served in nursing homes. The elderly can get sick much more often and they can get more food borne illnesses than younger people. While the food may not be the greatest, it is usually healthy.

Home Remedies for Ear Wax Removal

There are several suggested home remedies for ear wax removal, but some of them are quite dangerous. Follow my instructions for a safe and effective ear wax removal. Ear wax Ear wax is produced by glands in the ear canal and it's job is to clean, moisten and protect the canal. Usually, ear wax is produced in small quantities and emerges naturally from the ear. If wax is produced in larger than normal quantities, it may cause a blockage with feeling of blockage, itchiness and sometimes hearing loss. Since the ear canal is a self-cleansing organ, under normal circumstances it needs no special attention. Home remedies for ear wax removal If you have a need for cleaning the ear canal regularly, use a sea water ear-spray daily. NEVER use a cotton bud, hair grip or finger to remove wax from your ear. They simply compacts the wax, making it hard. The safest and tested method is:

Ear wax dissolving with PARAFFIN OIL (or other mineral oil) in combination with warm water irrigation

  1. Obtain paraffin oil (or other mineral oil) at any drugstore.
  2. Warm about 2-3 tablespoons (e.g.over a candle) a little above body temperature.
  3. Fill an eye dropper with the warm oil.
  4. Lie on your side, with the ear to be de-waxed up.
  5. Drop a few drops of warm oil into the ear.
  6. Lie still for about 5 minutes.
  7. Get up and empty oil into the sink.

Do this procedure the following day or two. This will soften the wax, may even dissolve it completely.
  1. Now warm some water just above body temperature.
  2. Flush your ear with warm water, this will bring out the undissolved wax.

Home

You may rinds the ear canal with diluted apple cider vinegar solution afterwards, in order to replace natural pH. Perhaps you have heard about the Hydrogen Peroxide method for dissolving ear wax plugs. It can be dangerous if you have a sensitive ear canal or punctured ear drum. H2O2 is a very strong substance may be too strong to put in contact with the highly delicate ear drum. So, I don't recommend it for home usage. Consult this problem with an ENT specialist. Home Phone Service Discount for Low Income Families

Most people are aware of government assistance programs like Food Stamps or Medicaid but did you know that there is an assistance program for your phone service? Lifeline is part of a program administered by the Universal Service Administrative Company (USAC) that provides a subsidy in the form of a discount on your phone service. Lifeline will save you at least per month but typically reduces your phone bill by over .50. In addition to the monthly savings, there is also a benefit called Link-up that will pay half of your activation fees, up to .

With sustained U.S. unemployment rates above 9% for over a year now, it's not surprising that the number of Americans receiving food stamps is over 40 million and is expected to keep rising. Medicaid recipients total over 50 million. If you're one of these people, you are qualified to receive the Lifeline discount on your phone service.

Home

Food Stamps and Medicaid aren't the only programs that qualify you for Lifeline assistance. Some states follow federal guidelines while others have their own rules. The Federal guidelines require that your total household income does not exceed 135% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines, or that you're enrolled in at least one of these programs:

Home Phone Service Discount for Low Income Families

* Medicaid
* Food Stamps
* Supplemental Security Income (SSI)
* Federal Public Housing Assistance (Section 8 housing)
* Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP)
* Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF)
* The National School Lunch Program's Free Lunch Program

Now that you know you qualify, how do you get it? It's easier than you might think. You don't have to go to a special government office and meet with a caseworker. You don't have to change phone service providers if you currently have service. If you currently have home phone service, call your phone company and ask to be put on the Lifeline program. They'll typically ask you to fill out and sign a simple form which you'll need to fax or send to them. The form typically asks for your name and address, and which of the qualifying programs you're enrolled in. Your signature is stating that you are telling the truth. Some states also require some form of proof of the qualifying program like your award letter.

If you don't have working home phone service, check your yellow pages for a local phone company and ask them about their Lifeline home phone service. All of your major carriers like AT&T, Verizon, and Quest offer it as do most of the Competitive local exchange carriers (CLECs). Don't worry about your credit history. If you're eligible for Lifeline, you aren't required to pay a deposit if you're willing to let the provider block any toll calls from your phone. You'll still be able to make long distance calls using a calling card or some other prepaid service.

The Lifeline discount is applicable to just one phone line per household. And, the Link-up subsidy is a one-time benefit. So, it's not a good idea to keep changing providers since you'll only get the discount once. You may get away with receiving Link-up more than once by going to a different carrier but it's not legal for you to do so and the form that you sign to get started is your statement that you've never received Link-up before.

The Lifeline benefit can be applied to cellular service instead of home phone. There are a few cellular service providers that offer a "free government cell phone" which is actually the Lifeline program. It typically gives you between 60 and 200 minutes of service per month and a free handset which is your Link-up benefit. But, you can't get the Lifeline benefit for your cell phone if you're receiving it on your home phone, and vice-versa.

So if you're one of the over 50 million Americans receiving government assistance, call your phone service provider now and ask them about Lifeline home phone service.

What Are The Real Costs Of Selling A Home?

Experts estimate that most people who use a Realtor will pay as much as 10% of your selling price in costs associated with selling. The cost of selling a home yourself can range from 4% to 8% of the selling price of your home. When you're estimating your expected gains, remember that the cost of selling a home can be deducted from that figure for tax purposes.

To give you an idea of what the costs of selling a home in the current market are, take a look at the information below. We've included estimated costs based on a 0,000 home sale, as well as some tips for lowering or eliminating them to lower your overall cost of selling your home.

What Are The Real Costs Of Selling A Home?

If you list your home with a Realtor, expect to pay 4 to 6% of the sales price, or ,000 to ,000 in real estate commission.

Tip: Shop around. Real estate commissions aren't written in stone. A Realtor may be willing to accept less of a commission in a slow market, or you may be able to save money by contracting with a Realtor for specific services only rather than a contracted listing.

Closing Costs

Taxes, both transfer taxes and property taxes, and legal fees associated with the closing and finalizing of your home sale will be 2% to 4% of your sales price, or ,000 to ,000.

Tip: Check the laws in your state. If you've prepaid your property taxes for the year, you may get a credit instead of a bill. There may also be other refunds on prepaid escrow costs for home insurance and other costs of selling a home.

Paying Off Your Mortgage

Whatever the remaining principal balance is on your current mortgage will have to be paid off upon the sale of your home. Just to keep things simple, let's say that you still owe ,000 on your current mortgage. If there's a prepayment penalty, you'll need to deduct that from your eventual sales price as well.

Tip: Ask your lender to prepare a payoff statement for you to check your figures. If there is a fee charged for the service, you can deduct it as one of the costs of selling a home.

230,000

Repairs to Your Home

The cost varies widely depending on the age of your home and how well it's been maintained. At the very least, you should get a home inspection to identify any possible problems to avoid being surprised by them at closing. You should plan on paying about 0 for a home inspection.

180,000

300

Pre-Sale Facelift

Again, the cost varies with the work that's needed to get the house looking its best. Conservative estimate: 0 for new paint, screws and hardware, carpet for living room floor and landscaping service

400

179,300

Moving costs

The cost of moving from one home to another are included in the cost of selling a home. It may be as little as 00 to as much as ,000 for a cross country move. Let's be conservative again - ,000

179,300

3,000

176,300

Other relocation costs

You may need to replace appliances, pay off school transfer or gym fees, or pay storage for your furniture. There are many unexpected costs of selling a home which may amount to nothing, or add up to a good chunk of change.

Even without adding in other relocation costs, you can see how the cost of selling a home can reduce your final cash gain. The good news is that most of those costs are deductible on your taxes.

Home Remedy For Sinus Infection

Sinus infections are one of the most common infections across the world. Sinus attacks are caused by an infection in the sinuses or cavities that are present in the bones near the nose. When there is any swelling in these sinuses because of some infection, breathing becomes difficult, resulting in fever, headaches, and other discomforts. This is known as sinusitis.

Each sinus or cavity in the skull has an opening that allows free exchange of mucus and air. Each sinus is joined to the other by a mucous membrane lining. When there is an infection like hay fever or a disease like asthma, these sinuses and the lining become inflamed, causing air and mucus to be blocked inside or a vacuum to be created. This can cause pressure on the sinus walls, causing severe pain. Millions of dollars are spent for sinus medications and sinus research.

Home

Sinus infections can cause a lot of pain and discomfort. Sometimes, the infection may also lead to some brain infections or other chronic problems. Though there is no effective remedy for sinus infections, a lot of comfort can be gained by treating the sinus symptoms like headaches, nasal discharge, nasal blocking, runny nose, ear/neck/cheek/jaw pain, swelling of eyelids, etc. However, acute or chronic sinus infections require prolonged treatments, comprised of antibiotics or therapies like saline nasal rinses, topical/oral decongestants, antihistamines, mucolytic agents, and intranasal corticosteroids.

Home Remedy For Sinus Infection

Sinus infections can also be treated by some home remedies. A lot of relief can be obtained by inhaling steam from a vaporizer or a bowl of hot water. Applying a hot or a cold compress over the inflamed area would also provide relief. A decoction of mustard seed powder and water, instilled in the nostrils; eating jalapeno peppers; drinking juice of ripe grapes; applying a paste of cinnamon and water on the forehead; applying paste of ginger and water/milk on the forehead; applying paste of basil leaves, cloves, and dried ginger on the forehead; inhaling steam of eucalyptus oil; and drinking warm tea are all found to be effective in providing some relief. Drinking a lot of water and other fluids would also help. A great deal of rest is also required. However, it is better to consult a specialist if the infection persists.

Assisted Living Vs Nursing Homes

Assisted Living and Nursing Homes are two terms often used interchangeably, however this is a mistake. The two are actually very different, and a candidate for one is not a candidate for the other. The following are some differences between the two:

Assisted Living Facilities:

Homes

o Individuals in assisted living are more independent and can usually get through most of the day by themselves. They only need general help with daily activities like bathing, dressing, grooming and preparing food.

o Candidates still enjoy social activities with other people and make autonomous decisions about their day. Someone who belongs in an assisted living facility would be downright miserable in a nursing home.

o These living facilities require limited to no medical care. An ideal assisted living facility candidate would be in good health both mentally and physically.

o These facilities focus on personal privacy and self-sufficiency more so than a nursing home. Residents are able to maintain their independence in a more secure atmosphere.

o These facilities offer their clients a comfortable apartment that is luxurious and comfortable. Meals and light housekeeping are available.

o Assisted living facilities offer mature adults an alternative with care when needed and would prefer not to manage their large house anymore.

Nursing Homes:

o Those in nursing homes need a great deal more care. They usually require 24-hour nursing supervision and are generally not in good health. Nursing homes are equipped to handle patients who are not mentally or physically well.

o Nursing home patients require help with much more than three or more daily tasks - such as walking or being pushed in wheel chairs, eating, and regular medical tests.

o A nursing home is a place for someone who is unable to be cared for at home, but is not a candidate for hospital care. Although, some nursing homes are set up like hospitals to meet state requirements.

o Nursing homes also provide rehabilitation to help people gain back their independence after a serious health problem, i.e. a stroke or fall.

o Similar to hospitals, nursing home patients have little to no privacy and quite often share rooms.

o Nursing home clients are viewed as patients, not clients. They are there for the sole purpose to get well. If you or your parent is well, a nursing home would not be the ideal place. Perhaps you should investigate an assisted living facility near you.

4 Tips To Buy Bank Foreclosed Houses

Bank foreclosed homes are houses or properties that are currently owned by the bank itself. The previous owner had failed to accomplish their duties on paying their loans or mortgage so in turn, the bank foreclosed it. It is one of the many kinds of foreclosure in the market. It is also one of the safest and easiest ways on buying foreclosed houses.

The main reason why it is very easy to buy and transact with this type of foreclosure is because the deal is directly with the bank. The banks sell their foreclosed properties because they want to get back the money that they lost. Finding the best foreclosed home is very easy.

Houses

There are banks that advertise their foreclosures on the newspapers and magazines. The internet is also another good source of information on bank foreclosure listings. These sites provide a wide range of foreclosure houses from different cities. Banks can even use the help of real estate agencies in selling their foreclosed properties.

The bank's main objective is to re-sell these houses to new buyers by financing a mortgage. Most bank foreclosed houses are reduced to 10 to 15 percent from the original market value. Though the rate is not as good as the rate of the others, bank foreclosure aids the novice or first time consumers on easy buying.

Generally, there are no other liens on the property of bank foreclosures which is also the other reason why it is very easy to purchase. Usually it involves no unpaid taxes to be worried about. Another reason is that it saves you from worrying on how to evict the former owners from the foreclosed houses which is one of the most difficult things to do.

Compared to other foreclosures, the bank foreclosed houses are open in letting you inspect and examine the house first. This will help you decide more effectively in whether you'll be buying the right home or not. All of these are just some of the advantages with bank foreclosed houses.

In purchasing homes or properties form bank foreclosure, you can always negotiate with the bank on the manner or method of payment. You can ask for a low down payment, low interest rate and even to further reduce the foreclosed home's cost. Just don't forget to also be realistic in making your negotiations.

Banks will always stick to their goal which is to earn money. The tendency is that they won't give the foreclosed houses just like that without making money from it. There are different lenders which you can try to avail a bank foreclosed home.

Here are tips on buying foreclosed houses:

1. Check the condition and quality of the house. Most non-productive foreclosed houses can be avail at a much lower price than those in good conditions.

2. Inspect the house and estimate your total expenses including the fixing and the likes. This is to know whether you're buying a great deal home.

3. Hire someone with an expertise with home foreclosures. This is to know whether or not the foreclosed home you'll be buying is a bargain.

4. Be smart in negotiating. Don't forget to know your legal rights as a consumer to prevent future conflicts.

Bank foreclosed houses may not offer the lowest rate but it offers a lot of advantages. It is very easy to transact that is why first time buyers would not have a hard time at all.

House Flies - Unwanted Winter Guests

As the winter nears many insects become scarce. Adult house flies, for example, die off. Thank goodness for that I hear you say. Just remember though, that house fly eggs live on and are to be found in their larval or pupal stage hiding in some dung or in some rubbish somewhere. They may also be laid in warm attics or rafters. Flies are opportunistic and will lay their eggs anywhere that is a food source. For instance, if a mouse of bird has died in your attic, flies will use its rotting corpse as the perfect host for its young.

If the pupae or larvea were outside they would stay dormant through the cold weather. The trouble with lofts though, is that warm air tends to rise and keep them relatively warm. The eggs won't stay dormant for long. The warmth in the loft will result in continuous development until the young flies are finally hatched and, as is their nature, start to rove around looking for food.

House

They won't go far. In the winter, the only source of heat will be the house itself. They may stay trapped in the loft and might die off once all food sources have been exhausted. They may also die off if the house occupants go on vacation and turn off the heating. In many situations however, they will make their way into the living quarters of the house and start to do their nasty work of landing on and sampling various foodstuffs. The kitchen is one of their favourite destinations.

So what can be done to prevent your house (or business, hospital or school) playing host to these unwanted guests through the winter?

1. Try to plug any gaps in the roof area and other areas in the building to ensure that pests can not invade in the first place. You may consider installing Insectocutor fly screens

2. Regularly check roof spaces and other rarely habited areas for any dead creatures. For instance check rat traps and the like. Also, clear away any rubbish.

3. Make sure there are no leaks or damp areas. These can aid infestation.

4. If possible, turn off all heating for a limited period. The only practical time you may consider this is if the building is not being used for a while. If you are going on vacation this would be a good time to ensure all heating is turned off. Businesses can use the Christmas break for the same purpose. For hospitals this option will not be available of course.

5. Use fly killers. Insectocutor fly killers can be purchased from Arkay Hygiene (see below).

Cluster flies are a particular nuisance. You may need to purchase an Insectocutor SE22 or SE44 fly killer with the catch tray removed and a large metal container positioned directly underneath it (the regular catch tray would not be able to cope with the sheer numbers of cluster flies).

If you already have fly killer machines, don't forget to check them. Arkay Hygiene stock a range of spare parts including a wide uv bulb range, transformers, lamp starters and lamp holders. Don't forget that the ultra violet output of the lamps degrades after a year of recommended use. If your lamp is a year old then fit a new one.

It's bad enough being plagued by flies in the summer. Let's hope you have a rest from them this winter!

St Joseph Prayer to Sell Your House! What to Do to Sell Your House Fast

Let me tell you a story that I recently lived. Six months ago I purchased a small house with only 4 rooms and a bath for a small price, and I said that I will sell this baby like hot cakes in maximum one month.

In the first few week, I think 2, I made some improvements: a new oven, a new fridge, new painting, all this to try to increase the value of the house and make some money from selling it. Guess what? I waited almost 4 months because every single person that visited my house had something to say. "It's too little"; "I don't like the paintings"; "We don't have enough room for our family" and things like that. When I started searching on the internet why a house doesn't sell I found that the Size is very important, Especially when you have a family with 2 kids and a dog. I realized that my house wont sell at what I was asking( of course I've added a profit to the asking price on the house). I was not sure what to do in order to sell that house, so I lowered to the price where I had no profit, only my investment back and made the St. Joseph prayer to sell my house.

House

What do you know? I've sold it in 2 days. I was happy because I've got that house out of my back. The buying and selling real estate process can be a profitable one but be sure that you know what you are doing. Now I know that if you want to make a profit by buying and selling houses you must evaluate your house correctly or you will stay with your house on the market for a long period of time.

St Joseph prayer to sell house

O, Saint Joseph,
you who taught our Lord
the carpenter's trade,
and saw to it
that he was always properly housed,
hear my earnest plea.

I want you to help me now
as you helped your foster-child Jesus,
and as you have helped many others
in the matter of housing.

I wish to sell this [house/property]
quickly, easily, and profitably
and I implore you to grant my wish
by bringing me a good buyer,
one who is

eager, compliant, and honest,
and by letting nothing impede the

rapid conclusion of the sale.

Dear Saint Joseph,
I know you would do this for me
out of the goodness of your heart
and in your own good time,
but my need is very great now
and so I must make you hurry
on my behalf.

Saint Joseph, I am going to place you
in a difficult position
with your head in darkness
and you will suffer as our Lord suffered,
until this [house/property] is sold.

Then, Saint Joseph, I swear
before the cross and God Almighty,
that I will redeem you
and you will receive my gratitude
and a place of honor in my home.

Amen.

House Blessings - Bless Yours NOW!

It's time to kick the enemy out of our homes and our of our family's lives. My wife and I recently bought an 85 year old Victorian home in Stephenville, Texas. We call it Vanderbilt Place and we run it as a rooming house. On New Year's Eve 2005, along with some friends, we prayed a blessing over the house. It made such a huge difference insofar as not only keeping the place occupied but also in the quality of renter we attracted from that day onward.

Later, after sharing this experience with a friend, a local business woman asked if we would pray with her over her business. Once we prayed, not only did productivity soar, but the strong ungodly element decreased dramatically, starting with the manager's resignation several months later.

House

In this message, I did not want to get too ritualistic, thereby possibly inviting some other religious devil. Consider this a model; feel free to customize it for your needs. So, I'm keeping it simple and duplicatable so that others might be able to bless THEIR home...people like YOU! Don't wait for Sunday to do something spiritual...we are the Church, NOT the buildings! Don't wait for a minister either...you ARE one according to Scripture.

In America today, we tend to scream at societal issues and throw money at our problems. We do a great deal of finger pointing, too. What I'm proposing is that, house by house, American Christians must take back what the enemy has stolen from us. Starting TODAY! As they say, if you want something you've never had, you've got to do something you've never done.

Single parents, grandfathers, college students alone in your dorm, apartment dwellers AND apartment managers or property owners - if you are a Christian, you have the authority to take dominion over your dwelling place. Don't delay. Gather some friends and a bottle of virgin olive oil from the kitchen and start praying and anointing as the Spirit leads...first your place, then THEIRS! There's power in agreement so, regardless of their denomination, go for it! If you like, have communion afterward or sing some hymns. Here's what we're doing. Do likewise and be blessed!

1) TAKE AUTHORITY OVER SPIRITS THAT HAVE BEEN WELCOMED THROUGHOUT THE HOME'S HISTORY - LEAVE DOORS OPEN FOR THEIR ESCAPE. The Bible declares, "Submit yourself to God, resist the devil and he will flee." Here's a prayer you can begin with:

In the Name of Jesus our Messiah, and by the power of His Blood and His Cross, and the Holy Spirit that raised Him from the dead and now dwells within us, we bind all spirits in the air, and the fire and the water, in the ground and the underground and the nether world, and we bind any satanic forces of nature that have been assigned to this dwelling place. You will steal from us no longer! In fact, you will repay us sevenfold, according to Eph 4;28. "When the thief is caught he must repay seven fold". That includes sevenfold time, energy, money, health and anything else stolen from God's children.

We break all generational and word curses, hexes, or spells, or any witchcraft or occult activity that have been invited into this house - on purpose or by accident - throughout the generations past.

We bind the interaction and interplay of demonic spirits within these walls. And we claim the protection of the shed Blood of Jesus Christ over this house and grounds, and over every person who ever spend so much as a few moments upon this property. May they receive God's blessing!

We call out to you, Holy Spirit. Come now and fill this place, never to leave! We pray this in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Here are a few Opening Scriptures you may choose to start with:
"Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ." (Romans 1:7)

"Jesus said, "Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will go in..." (Revelation 3:20)

2) PRAYER OF BLESSING WHILE ANOINTING WITH OIL

Most loving God, we thank you that through faith in your Son Jesus Christ, you make us all members of your eternal family. We give thanks for all the love that you send to draw our earthly families together, to heal us, and to heal those who have gone before us. Fill this house with your divine presence, we pray. Pour out your love to deepen the fellowship shared here. Let your wisdom guide us, your trust free us, and your peace bless us, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

We dedicate this home to love and understanding. May its joys and sorrows be shared and the individuality of each person who lives and visits here appreciated.

We dedicate this home to work, and rest and play. May our home have joy and high fellowship, with kindness in its voices and laughter running within its walls.

We dedicate this home to friendly life. May its doors open in hospitality and its windows look out with kindness toward other homes and those who pass by its doors.

We dedicate this home to cooperation. May its duties be performed in love, its furnishings bear witness that the work of others ministers to our comfort, and its table remind us that God works with us for the supply of daily needs.

We dedicate this home to the appreciation of all things good and true. May the books bring wisdom, the pictures symbolize things beautiful, and the music bring joy and inspiration.

We dedicate the time and talent of those who live here to help build a world in which every family may have a home of comfort and fellowship.

We dedicate this home as a unit in the Church universal, an instrument of the Kingdom of God, a place of worship and Christian training and a threshold to the life eternal.

With our hearts turned toward you, so our thoughts rise in gratitude to God for this home, and in prayer for God's blessings upon it.

Following are s few Scriptures and Reflections about Homes and God's Care:

1. The Bible teaches us that a home is far more than a physical building.

Proverbs 24:3-4

By wisdom a house is built,
and by understanding it is established;
by knowledge the rooms are filled with all precious and pleasant riches.

2. We need God's presence, power and direction for our lives and homes to be fruitful.

Psalms 127:1

Unless the LORD builds the house,
those who build it labor in vain.
Unless the LORD watches over the city,
the watchman stays awake in vain.

3. The Bible indicates that it is important to dedicate our homes to God. Before going into battle, the men in the Bible were warned to dedicate their homes!

Deuteronomy 20:5

Then the officers shall speak to the people, saying, 'What man is there that has built a new house and has not dedicated it? Let him go back to his house, lest he die in the battle and another man dedicate it.'

4. God told his people to write his word on the doorposts of their homes.

Many Jewish people today place a portion of God's Word on a parchment scroll in a container on the doorposts of their homes. They touch the scroll every time they go in or out to remind them that their homes belong to God, and what happens there is to be directed by God's Word.

Deuteronomy 6:6-9

And these words which I command you this day shall be upon your hearts and you shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise. And you shall bind them as a sign upon your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes.

And you shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.

5. When a person dedicates their house to God, we trust that God responds to their commitment. When Solomon dedicated the temple, God responded, speaking to him.

2 Chronicles 7:15

Now my eyes will be open [says the Lord] and my ears attentive to the prayer that is made in this place.
For now I have chosen and consecrated this house that my name may be there for ever; my eyes and my heart will be there for all time.

6. When people in the Early Christian movement gathered to teach and preach about Jesus, and to pray in the power of the Spirit, they often met in homes. Even today, there is a growing movement throughout the Western world - something our third world brethren have been doing for decades - meeting in homes or anywhere the Spirit leads them to.

Acts 5:42

And every day in the temple and at home they did not cease teaching and preaching Jesus as the Christ.

Acts 28:30,31

[Paul] stayed two full years in his own rented quarters, and was welcoming all who came to him, preaching the Kingdom of God, and teaching concerning the Lord Jesus Christ...

7. Jesus can use our homes to minister to us and with us if we will welcome him.

Revelation 3:20

Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if any one hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and he with me.

8. In his teachings, Jesus presented home life as a model of what it means to live a life in God's presence and love.

John 14:1-3

"Let not your hearts be troubled; believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father's house are many rooms;
if it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? And when I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also.

9. The Psalmist saw God's care in a similar way.

Psalms 91:1-2

He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High, who abides in the shadow of the Almighty, will say to the LORD, "My refuge and my fortress;my God, in whom I trust."

10. How will we use the homes God has loaned to us? Dedicating our homes to God is not a one-time act. It is an ongoing ministry!

Hebrews 13:2

Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.

11. We are accountable to God for the use of our homes and our hospitality. God honors those who consecrate the use of their homes to bless others in need.

Matthew 25:31-46

"When the Son of man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, then he will sit on his glorious throne.
Before him will be gathered all the nations, and he will separate them one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats... Then the King will say to those at his right hand, 'Come, O blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world; for I was ...a stranger and you welcomed me...'
Then the righteous will answer him, 'Lord, when did we see thee...a stranger and welcome thee...? And the King will answer them, 'Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brethren, you did it to me.

Final Prayer of Blessing:

Almighty God,we thank you for the desires of our hearts for this home and all who enter its doors, that all we have and do here may be in accord with your divine plans, that this home and its residents may be truly and completely dedicated to you, and to serving your kingdom.

We ask you to strengthen them in this commitment. We pray to you, O God, for this home, its occupants and possessions, that you may bless and sanctify them, enriching them by your kindness in every way possible. Pour out on them, O Lord, heavenly dew in good measure, as well as an abundance of earthly needs.

Mercifully listen to their prayers, and grant that their needs be fulfilled.
As we come before you, Father, bless this home & every aspect of it,
cleansing any misdeeds of the past, and leaving it pure, fresh and holy.
Bless this house, just as you blessed the homes of Abraham and Sarah, of Isaac and
Rebecca, of Jacob and Rachel.
Within these walls, let your angels preside and stand watch over those who live and
spend time here, through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Cheap Homes For Sale In Great Towns

Good Homes Under ,000?

My wife Ana and I found cheap homes for sale all over the country during a seven-week drive, and we even bought one along the way. It was in a pretty little town in the mountains of western Montana, and it cost us ,500. We spent almost 00 to fix it up the way we liked it, and lived there for several months before selling it for ,000. You can see a photo of our little pink house on the homepage of our site www.HousesUnderFiftyThousand.com. This was not a fluke. There are still great towns where you can find cheap homes for sale.

Cheap Homes, Nice Towns: An Example

In Anaconda, Montana you can fly fish, go to a movie for three dollars in a beautiful old art-deco theatre (the 5th most beautiful theater in the country, according to the Smithsonian), drop some nickles in a slot machine (a dozen casinos), eat at a fine restaurant, stop by the bar for a dollar beer, and buy a house for sale under ,000 - all within a four block area! There are good schools and churches, a library with fast internet service, and wildlife (including bears) a few hundred yards from downtown.

Why Are There Cheap Homes For Sale?

The reason there are so many cheap homes for sale in Butte and Anaconda, is that there aren't many good jobs left. I personally found jobs in Anaconda easily-but not good ones. People left the area in the 80's especially, after the mines and smelters closed. This exodus has left one-in-seven "housing units" in Anaconda vacant, according to the U.S. census. This has driven down the prices of homes dramatically. Since both towns still have all the basic ammenities, are cleaner now, and are slowly recovering, they are great places to retire to or to move to if you have an internet or other non-location-based business.

The economic situation is the primary reason that you can buy a cheap house in many parts of the country. These are towns that have seen troubled times, but are often recovering, and with good reasons. Anaconda, an example we know well, now has a ski resort,a Jack Nicholas golf course, and beautiful mountain scenery. The houses cost four times as much if you go an hour in any direction, and those higher prices are bound to reach Anaconda eventually.

Cheap Houses You Don't Want To Buy

On the other hand, there are towns like the one in South Dakota where we stopped for lunch. The bulletin board had ads for cheap homes for sale, placed there by desperate home-sellers trying not to be the last to leave town. There was a photo of a beautiful old five-bedroom farmhouse for ,000. We looked up the deserted street as we ate, and noticed that most of the buildings were boarded-up. This was a town that was clearly dying, and didn't have anything to help revive it. Inexpensive homes are easy to find here, but I wouldn't take one for free.

Cheap Homes For Sale In Paradise

Maybe paradise is too much to expect, but there are many wonderful towns, from Florida to Oregon, where there are cheap homes for sale. So what does a town need in addition to inexpensive houses in order to make our list? Well, the criteria are certainly subjective, but include at least the following:

1. Population between 4,000 and 80,000.

2. A good library.

3. A good grocery store.

4. A movie theatre.

5. Cheap houses: at least six for sale under ,000.

6. The town "feels" good.

When we researched and built our website, we broke the towns up into two pages. One is for the towns with houses for sale for less than ,000. The other is for the towns with really cheap homes for sale - under ,000! Yes, they are still out there. Using a phone and the internet, searching for your affordable dream home is easier than ever. Good Luck!

The VA Offers Loan Programs For Fixer Upper Homes

One of the many uniqueness of a VA guaranteed loan is the possibility of buying a house and using some of the proceeds of the loan(s) to fix it up before you move in. The only other type of loan similar to this might be construction permanent financing (also guaranteed by the VA). In other words, the VA will under certain circumstances guaranty loans so you can purchase and rehabilitate (rehab) a house that needs repair and that you and the lender knew required repair before closing. You won't find that anywhere else.

Basically, you will have two loans, one for the initial purchase and a second or supplemental loan for the rehab work. That first loan will almost certainly require your house to appraise and pass inspection, even in its banged up state. In other words, the sink will need to have running water and the furnace will need to heat the house. You must coordinate the purchase and the rehab carefully with not only your lender but also with a licensed appraiser before you make any commitments. While this adds a level of complexity not normally found in residential mortgage lending, bear in mind that the United States Government is about to back the deal with a guaranty. Go for it!

Homes

Some Key Rules

It is important for you to know about some of the key rules established by the VA for this type of deal. The headings below have been changed to assist the reader and not all of the rules are restated here-just the ones that seem high profile.

A. VA may guarantee a loan for alteration and repair

o of a residence already owned by the veteran and occupied as a home, or

o made in conjunction with a purchase loan on the property.

B. The alterations and repairs must be those ordinarily found on similar property of comparable value in the community

C. The cost of alterations and repairs to structures may be included in a loan for the purchase of improved property to the extent that their value supports the loan amount.

D. A supplemental loan is a loan for the alteration, improvement, or repair of a residential property. The residential property must

o secure an existing VA-guaranteed loan, and

o be owned and occupied by the veteran, or the veteran will reoccupy upon completion of major alterations, repairs, or improvements.

E. The alterations, improvements, or repairs must

o be for the purpose of substantially protecting or improving the basic livability or utility of the property, and

o be restricted primarily to the maintenance, replacement, improvement or acquisition of real property, including fixtures.

F. Installation of features such as barbecue pits, swimming pools, etc., does not meet this requirement.

G. No more than 30 percent of the loan proceeds may be used for the maintenance, replacement, improvement, repair or acquisition of nonfixtures or quasi-fixtures such as refrigeration, cooking, washing, and heating equipment, and the equipment must be related to or supplement the principal alteration for which the loan is proposed

H. A supplemental loan will require the prior approval of VA if

o the loan will be made by a lender who is not the holder of the currently guaranteed obligation

o the loan is to be made by a lender that does not have authority to close loans on an automatic basis, or

An oblige liable on the currently outstanding obligation will be released from personal liability by operation of law or otherwise

If this type of deal sounds appealing, submit your application to your loan officer and carefully walk through a dress rehearsal with everyone involved including an appraiser and a home inspector who are licensed and know what they are doing. This is another of many ways to convert your VA loan guaranty to a ticket to higher net worth. It is among the ways to get the most bang for your buck.

Caveat: this is an opinion of the author and not to be relied upon as a substitute for any advice offered by your lender who will be the final arbiter of everything discussed here.
